The Steering Committee of the Archival History Section is pleased to invite you to our annual meeting, June 19, 2023 from 11:00am to 12:30pm CT (beginning 12:00 pm EST, 10:00 am MT, 9:00 am PT).
Please come to help us review a report on a productive year with our first annual lecture and a survey of membership, and to help us look forward to next year.
In addition, we will hear from invited speaker, Katherine Ott, Curator, Division of Medicine and Science at the National Museum of American History. As she notes, the 3-dimensional objects in museum collections both depend upon and are often collected along with archival collections. Her talk to us will examine the relationship of museum collections in medicine, disability, and LGBTQ+ with archival documentation.
Her talk is entitled The Interrelationship of Archives and Other Museum Materials.
NOTE: Participation is free for anyone interested in the history of archives, whether you are registered for the Society of American Archivists’ conference or not. However, attendees are required to RSVP in advance for the Zoom session: Registration for Archival History Section Meeting.
